On Friday 16 November Carlauren Care team members were fortunate enough to attend the South West Care Awards dinner in Bristol. Being nominated for one award is accolade enough but to be shortlisted for four is quite an achievement.
Ternealia Mohammed was nominated for The Care Home Worker Award recognising “The significant role of the care home worker in consistently providing a high quality standard, for people living in residential care”. Celine Fossi Bakam was nominated for The Home Care Worker Award recognising “The significant role of the home care worker in consistently providing a high quality standard, for people living in their own homes”. They did superbly well to have received the nominations and given framed certificates to celebrate their achievements.
We were even more delighted when Deborah Horrigan won the Palliative/End of Life Care Award. This award was for the person who best demonstrated how special and professional they have to be in order to support someone who is at the end of their life. Debbie brought with her a slide with the pictures of some of the women she has helped, just so they could in some way share the evening. And the last award of the evening was presented to the individual whom the judges believed had made a long-term outstanding contribution to social care. This was won by our own Rob Fielder. We are very proud of our team and now onto the National Awards.
